AEGEAN, the Greek national airline and a member of STAR ALLIANCE, has established its direct flights between Athens and Sarajevo.

The first AEGEAN flight from Athens landed on Saturday, June 1st, at 9:30 PM local time at Sarajevo International Airport, where representatives of Sarajevo Airport, along with the Ambassador of the Republic of Greece to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mrs. Ioanna Efthymiadou, welcomed the AEGEAN delegation.

The courteous airport staff warmly welcomed the passengers from Athens with symbolic gifts given to them upon disembarking from the plane.

Alan Bajić, Director of Sarajevo International Airport, expressed his satisfaction with the establishment of the new route. "This is an important step in connecting Sarajevo with Athens and the wider network of travel offered by AEGEAN. We are pleased to continuously provide our citizens with more travel opportunities, and we are also successful in promoting Sarajevo as an attractive destination for tourists from Greece."

"We are pleased to have established our new direct route from Athens to Sarajevo, continuing to increase connectivity and expand within the Balkan region. Starting today, passengers departing from Sarajevo Airport, whether flying for leisure or business, will have the opportunity to fly directly on one of our planes and land in Athens in just 1 hour and 15 minutes. At the same time, passengers from Greece or our international network will have the chance to visit Sarajevo and explore its beauties. On the occasion of our 25th anniversary, I want to take this opportunity to assure you that we will continue to provide an exceptional experience to our passengers while increasing connectivity and promoting economic growth in attractive destinations," said Pepi Stamati, Deputy CCO for Network and Revenue at AEGEAN.

Regular flights between Sarajevo and Athens are scheduled from June 1, 2024, to the end of September 2024, twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
