A plane from the Spanish national airline Iberia landed at Sarajevo International Airport: A warm welcome arranged for Spanish tourists

Today, a plane from the Spanish national airline Iberia landed at Sarajevo International Airport, bringing tourists from the Kingdom of Spain to our country. This charter flight brought Spanish tourists who will have the opportunity to explore the rich tourist offerings of the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Upon landing in Sarajevo, the Spanish tourists were given welcome gifts by the Tourist Board of the Sarajevo Canton and Sarajevo International Airport, in collaboration with the local brand Lasta.

It is important to emphasize that these activities were carried out in coordination with the Embassy of BiH in the Kingdom of Spain, which provides significant support to this project implemented by the leading tour operator in Spain, Sama Travel, as well as to the negotiations initiated by Sarajevo Airport with Iberia regarding the establishment of a regular route between Madrid and Sarajevo in the future. The arrival of Spanish tourists in Bosnia and Herzegovina represents a significant step towards strengthening the tourist offerings and international cooperation. The collaboration between Sarajevo International Airport and the Tourist Board of the Sarajevo Canton with Spanish partners is of great importance for promoting BiH as an attractive tourist destination.

Furthermore, as previously mentioned, Sarajevo Airport, in coordination with the Embassy of BiH in the Kingdom of Spain, has initiated negotiations with Iberia to establish a regular route between Madrid and Sarajevo. Intense negotiations are also ongoing regarding the establishment of a Barcelona-Sarajevo route, given the great potential and demand from both Bosnian citizens and foreign visitors and travelers.

Representatives of Sarajevo International Airport held a meeting with Susana Da Graca, the manager for international arrangements and operations at Sama Travel. "We are a Spanish tour operator, a family travel agency since 2007, with more than 15 years of experience in organizing trips. This means that this is the first flight, and we expect more next year. This year, we have chosen different cities in Europe for flights to and from Sarajevo. We currently have two flights ready, and we have groups coming from other cities in Europe. For next year, our goal is to increase these operations, possibly on a weekly basis," stated Susana Da Graca.

"This meeting represents the initial step towards our ultimate goal, which is the establishment of a year-round direct route between Madrid and Sarajevo, considering the overall potential and importance of this route, which, along with Barcelona, is on the list of strategic routes according to the Decision of the Board of Directors of J.P. Sarajevo International Airport," stated Vedrana Vikić Musić, Director of Airport Services at Sarajevo International Airport.
