The Management Board of Sarajevo International Airport welcomed the delegation of Montenegro Airports

Today, a delegation of Montenegro Airports, with the members of the Board of Directors, Kemal Purišić and Momčilo Martinović as well as David Salhanović from the Board of Directors’ relevant department paid a visit to Sarajevo International Airport.

The delegation was welcomed by the members of the Management Board of the Airport Sarajevo, i.e. the Managing Director Alan Bajić and the Executive Directors Samra Pehilj and Elvedin Begić.

The discussions were directed towards experience exchange and good practices in relation to the current challenges in running the airport business, to optimization of organization as well as to the most effective models of the airports management in terms of their best valorisation. In this context, advantages and disadvantages of the concession model of the airport management were discussed as well as some prospective impacts of other, combined (hybrid) models of the airport valorisation.

At the meeting held, it was concluded that constant internal reforms and adjustments are necessary in the business in question, what includes legal, managerial and organizational reforms, in order to respond to global changes which impact the business.

The Managing Director of Sarajevo International Airport, Mr. Alan Bajić emphasized that investing in the capacity lacking needs to be done constantly, i.e. into the ones necessary for standard work and functioning of the airport in order to keep up with the needs, regardless of any prospective decisions on running and managing the airport.

The participants discussed the fastest methods of meeting the requirements to access investment funds and they discussed about a tendency to reduce carbon emissions through programmes Carbon Reduce. The host of the meeting informed the colleagues from Montenegro about the model of profit centers which have been successfully implemented in the company as well as about the advantages of such revenues and expenses monitoring.

When talking about the performance and the strategic goals, the participants discussed the issues in terms of the consequences caused by the pandemic of the coronavirus, the models of preserving the strategic interests, the possibilities of implementation of crucial investments as well as the methods of further rapid development and increase in passenger traffic.

After the meeting, it was concluded that the experiences of Sarajevo International Airport are valuable for Montenegro Airports and it was emphasized that one of the ways of successful business management is certainly strengthening of regional cooperation.
