A meeting about implementation of activities targeting prevention and a fight against corruption was held today at Sarajevo International Airport. An Adviser for Anti-corruption with the Embassy of the USA Eric Larson, a Head of the Office for Anti-Corruption and Quality Management of Sarajevo Canton Erduan Kafedžić and an assistant with the Embassy of the USA Alija Kulić attended the meeting along with the members of the Management Board of PC Sarajevo International Airport LLC Sarajevo, Director Alan Bajić, Executive Director for Development Samra Pehilj and Elvedin Begić, Executive Director for Air Traffic.
In respect of the activities implemented so far, an Integrity Plan of PC SIA which was created in compliance with the Law on the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption and the Coordination of the Fight against Corruption as well as upon a request of the Anti-corruption Team of the Government of the FB&H was presented to the representatives of the Anti-Corruption Office. The Integrity Plan is a document comprised of legal and practical actions for prevention and elimination of opportunities for emergence and development of various forms of corruptive behaviour and corruption in this public company. A meeting with the representatives of the Office was initiated in order to make an additional step forward in relation to re-examination and implementation of good practices from the cantonal level which have resulted in good performance of the Anti-Corruption Office of Sarajevo Canton.
The Office for Anti-Corruption and Quality Management of Sarajevo Canton as a part of its activities cooperates with all institutions and it especially acknowledges the initiatives like this one, which was demonstrated by the Management Board of PC Sarajevo International Airport LLC Sarajevo, i.e. the one for a thematic meeting in a search of implementation of good practices, for presenting the activities undertaken and for observing the situation in order to promote the fight against corruption.
‘’We have discussed strengthening of cooperation and coordination of activities in relation to prevention and the fight against corruption. We have informed the Adviser Larson and the Head of the Office Kafedžić about specific steps which we have undertaken in reference to the prevention and anti-corruptive actions. The orientation of the Management with me in the lead is quite clear, ZERO tolerance to corruption and corruptive actions as well as full transparency in all segments of business.’’, the director of Sarajevo International Airport, Mr. Alan Bajić pointed out.
The Advisor Larson was satisfied with the meeting held and he emphasized: ‘’Sarajevo International Airport is one of the strategic companies if observing the future development of the entire country, and I have to admit I am especially pleased with the fact that today we discussed specific steps for even better cooperation in the combat against corruption in all segments of business. I welcome the initiative of the Board that the Office for Anti-Corruption and Quality Management of Sarajevo Canton is to be included in reference to the support in creating and implementing the specific actions. Also, I would commend the efforts to date of the new Management concerning implemented activities, particularly in respect of the Integrity Plan. I consider today’s meeting as a beginning of an intensive future cooperation and I personally want to underline my full support for revision of the Plan and the implementation of new quality mechanisms for its complete implementation. I will inform my superiors about the meeting and the cooperation plan for their consideration of the future support options.
