The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina reached the Decision today, which repealed the Decision on passenger tax - fee for development and promotion of aviation in the Federation of B&H.
As stated, the House of Representative of the Parliament of the Federation of B&H with the conclusion of March 8, 2021 entrusted the Government of the Federation of B&H to delete the provision in the Decision on passenger tax – fee for development and promotion of aviation in the Federation of B&H under which every departing passenger is obligated to pay the fee in the amount of 20 BAM, as one of the measures to stimulate the increase in number of passengers.
The above mentioned fee was introduced in 2005 for the purpose of development of civil aviation in the Federation of B&H, however all these years the same has been the main obstacle of further civil aviation development in our country, and it was only applied to airline companies which operated at Sarajevo International Airport. We believe that our passengers will be delighted with this news and that this move will have a significant impact on the arrival of new airlines as well as destination network expansion from Sarajevo to the rest of the world.
