In the upcoming 2021, a spectacular 5k night run at the airport runway organized by the Marathon Association Sarajevo and Sarajevo International Airport awaits us.
This 5 kilometres run at Sarajevo International Airport runway is a unique event which will be organized for the first time in Bosnia and Herzegovina and will be followed by many other different activities. The whole event will be organized in late night hours, after all flight operations from and to the Airport are completed.
A new form of sports event organization called Runway Night Run is planned.
''The organization of this kind of manifestation provides the entry into the circle of worldwide cities where this attractive event is held.'' – is stated from the Association Marathon Sarajevo.
The Airport Management stated the following: ''We are pleased to be hosts of this unique sports event and that, in this way, we will join many other airports in the world where this type of race is run. Although, the organization of this kind of event is quite demanding, especially from the security aspect, we have decided to take part in the manifestation which promotes the airport, as well as Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina.’’
The realisation of this sports event is expected to happen on summer of the upcoming year, more details on the exact date of the race and other particularities will be published very soon by the event organizers.
Besides, the Association Marathon Sarajevo will continue with the traditional organization of its famous events in the following year as well, including Sarajevo half-marathon, 10k night runs and 5k spring runs, with all accompanying events.
