First commercial flight is scheduled for Wednesday, 3rd June 2020 on a relation Budapest-Sarajevo-Budapest, by an airline company Wizz Air. A day after, an airline company Air Serbia should have a flight from Belgrade to Sarajevo and backwards. This company plans to have two flights per week in the first part of June, whilst in the second part the month it plans to have six flights per week. According to current announcements, an airline company Turkish Airlines should resume flights from Istanbul to Sarajevo by mid-June as well as an airline company Austrian Airlines on a relation Vienna-Sarajevo-Vienna. By the end of the month, an airline company Eurowings should resume flights towards few destinations in Germany.
To be reminded once again, companies are those which establish routes, on the basis of assessments and market analysis, that is, according to the interest of citizens for certain routes. In this case, companies especially monitor measures which are being implemented for foreign nationals when entering our country, and vice versa, in case of the entry of foreign nationals and BH citizens to other countries.
Since restrictive measures are in force in the majority of the countries for the entry of foreign nationals, that is the main reason for resuming less number of routes by the airline companies at this point. We expect in July a significant return of airline companies and resumption of flights towards destinations which coexisted at our airport before.
