Reduced flight operations at Sarajevo International Airport

A situation with flight operations at Sarajevo International Airport is changing from hour to hour. Most airlines reduced flights from and to Sarajevo as a preventive measure for coronavirus spreading.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina appeals all citizens of B&H to postpone/cancel all their trips abroad in the following period, especially in the following two weeks.

If the trips are urgent, we kindly ask you to contact embassies/ consulates of the countries you plan to travel to or the airline you plan to travel with, before you take the trip.

Representatives from SIA are in contact with all authorized institutions and have undertaken all necessary measures in order to reduce exposure and the possibility of transmission of the disease. Additionally, we have undertaken the measures for disinfection of the space and the disinfection of the vehicles passengers are transported in.

Also, as a remainder the Decision by the Council of Ministers bans the entry to all foreign nationals from the areas with intensive coronavirus transmission.
The Decision regulates additional conditions for foreign nationals entering B&H, pertaining the entry ban for foreign nationals from the areas with intensive corona virus transmission, in the aim of prevention spreading and infectious disease control, i.e. coronavirus – COVID 19; as well as the possession of a valid travel document.

The entry is banned for all foreign nationals who enter B&H from the areas with intensive coronavirus transmission, especially from the provinces of People’s Republic of China (Wuhan), South Korea, Japan, Italy, Iran, France, Romania, Germany, Austria, Spain, Switzerland and Belgium.
A foreign national can enter B&H only with a valid passport. In accordance with the Law on Foreign Nationals, the Border Police shall issue a Decision on entry ban to a foreign national whom the entry on the territory of B&H is banned, at his own request.

Also, it should be pointed out that from 16th of March 6 AM, the Decision according to which all B&H citizens arriving from abroad go to isolation for a period of 14 days became effective.
