In the period from 01.06.2019 - 30.06.2019 SIA registered 119.205 passengers, what makes the increase of 28% in comparison with the same period last year. This is the first time in history of the airport to have a monthly number of over 100.000 passengers registered so early, what is an obvious announcement of another successful summer season which is traditionally the busiest period of the year.
Further, air traffic operations also recorded a growth of 21% in comparison with June in the previous year, i.e. 1419 flights.
In the first six months of the current year Sarajevo International Airport handled 457.734 passengers what is the increase of 7 percent compared to the first half of the previous year. During that period there were 6.207 flights, i.e. 1% more than in the first six months in 2018.
SIA will continue to work actively on introduction of new carriers and new air services in accordance with its available capacities. Prerequisites for further increase of passengers and flights directly depend on realization of capital investment projects like the project on extension of Terminal building which is being in progress.
