Successfully performed exercise „Air crash within Sarajevo International Airport“

The exercise called „Air crash within Sarajevo International Airport“ was held at Sarajevo International Airport on Friday, 25 October 2013, from 09:00 till 10:00 hrs.
The exercise is a simulation of the air crash of B737 aircraft with 45 passengers and crew members, that crashed onto Sarajevo International Airport, i.e. at the fire-fighting testing range of the airport.
The actions that were taken are in accordance with the Emergency Plan which requires involvement of employees of Sarajevo International Airport, the Institute of ambulance service of Sarajevo Canton, Professional fire brigade – Airport unit and Stup Unit, Sarajevo Canton Police, BiH Border Police – Sarajevo Airport Unit and BiH Armed Forces, i.e. the Helicopter Unit.
Sarajevo International Airport is obliged to perform such an exercise once in two years. The air crash simulation exercise is aimed at testing the competence of involved parties and operativeness of the Emergeny Plan being in force.
Command of the action that monitored the exercise all the time evaluated it successful and praised excellent coordination and cooperation of all participants.
