REGULAR AIR TRAFFIC OPERATIONS

Ash from the Icelandic volcano Eyafjallajoekulla has again caused difficulties in air traffic above certain European regions including Great Britain, Scotland, Ireland, and, as of yesterday, Spain and Portugal. A cloud of volcanic dust above Croatia was a reason to close the airports in Split and Zadar. Air space above Bosnia and Herzegovina is open and operations at Sarajevo International Airport are taken without being disturbed and in accordance with today's time-table. So far the operations have been taken smoothly with no announcements on putting restrictions due to the volcanic dust. Aircraft to Zagreb, Zurich, Vienna and Copenhagen/Geteborg took off in the morning. Morning flight to Belgrade was cancelled for operational reasons. Flights to Munich, Istanbul, Frankuft, Budapest, Vienna, Zagreb and Ljubljana have been scheduled during the day. More information about these flights are available on the phone number 289 100 and on our official web page www.sia.ba.
